Bayesian Improved Surname and Geocoding (BISG) is a methodology developed by the RAND Corporation that can help U.S. organizations produce accurate, cost-effective estimates of racial and ethnic disparities within datasets—and illuminate areas for improvement.
Predicting Outcomes of Health Care Reform Proposals
RAND developed the COMPARE microsimulation model to estimate the likely impacts of health reform proposals on costs and coverage. The model assessed and helped shape design choices in the Affordable Care Act and has been used to assess a wide range of proposals, including single payer and public option plans.
RAND Hospital Data Tool
The RAND Hospital Data tool provides users with hospital cost data sets that are conveniently packaged and documented and that include value-added fields derived from HCRIS data, such as measures of occupancy and profitability.
