Overview

Matthew Walsh is a behavioral scientist at the RAND Corporation. He is an expert in cognitive science with over 10 years of experience creating computational models of learning, memory, skill acquisition and retention, fatigue, and other psychological processes. These models have been used to develop training schedules to build and sustain knowledge, skills, and abilities. Additionally, they have been used to detect and mitigate the effects of fatigue from sleep loss on task performance. Finally, these models have been used to design interventions to increase the uptake of health behaviors. Walsh holds a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, where he taught courses on computational modeling, artifical intelligence, and cognitive neuroscience. He holds a B.S. in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University.
