Overview

Dominic Yiangou is a research assistant at the RAND Corporation. He works mainly for the science and emerging technology research team at RAND Europe. His interests include emerging technologies (including A.I, blockchain applications and CAVs), responsible innovation and science & technology policy. Yiangou has experience across a range of methods – including literature reviews, interviews, case study developments and rapid evidence assessments. He is currently working on a number of evaluation and social policy-based projects such as the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund evaluation, the Nuclear Innovation Programme Evaluation, and a Social Impact Study of Alphafold AI system.

Other projects include a study assessing R&D in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences in the UK and, internationally, providing in-depth insights on UK and international R&D data, expert opinions and broader landscapes; a rapid evidence assessment on the ethics of newborn genome sequencing for Genomics England and an evidence review for digitalising welfare services in the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).

Prior to joining RAND, Yiangou completed his M.Sc. in science, technology and society at University College London and has a B.Sc. background in chemistry from The University of Kent.
